Real-Time Data-Driven Crop Health Management with an Autonomous Size Adaptive Robot

  • Designed an agricultural robot with dynamic adjustment to row width & height, enhancing adaptability in the field.
  • Employed a cutting-edge chain drive system featuring sprockets, supporting wheels for tracks, and a robust chain for power transmission, enabling reliable performance on uneven terrains.
  • Trained a CNN using MobileNetv2 architecture on DiaMOS dataset to detect crop nutritional deficiencies & diseases, and a FastRCNN based network to detect weeds in real-time. Provided tailored solutions for deficiencies, diseases, and targeted weedicide application. Achieved 91.2% prediction accuracy.
  • Developed a user-friendly web interface that enabled farmers to collect data by tele-operating the robot.

Design and Simulation of Servo-Controller for Helmet Mounted Display (HMD) enslaved camera

  • Developed a robust control system to precisely synchronize camera movement with head motions of a pilot
  • Built a fully functional prototype featuring a helmet with an integrated display and an IMU sensor for high fidelity tracking of head movements along with a motorized camera with pan and tilt movements.
  • Performed simulation in MATLAB Simulink with permanent magnet synchronous motor as the plant model.
  • Conducted comparative analysis on various control techniques, such as ADRC, sliding mode control, adaptive ADRC and PID to effectively address errors caused by internal disturbances like voltage & current fluctuations and external disturbances such as wind, gravitational force on the helmet.
  • Achieved a minimal error of 0.2 milliradian with ADRC compared to other controllers along with efficient control performance, fast response, minimal overshoot & settling time.

Facial Expression Recognition Using OpenCV

  • Employed Haar Cascade for face isolation and a CNN based on VGGNet architecture to predict the mood (happy, neutral, angry, sad) of a person using Facial Expression Recognition 2013 Dataset.
  • The system subsequently responded by playing tailored songs, videos and other media based on the emotional state.
  • Built a prototype GUI using Tkinter package and then improved on it using PyQt5.

Autonomous Nursing Mobile Robot

  • An autonomous robotic nurse system for patient care, monitoring, & remote medical assessments in hospitals.
  • Developed software based on Robot Operating System (ROS) framework, compared SLAM algorithms like gmapping, cartographer, and hector SLAM to enhance the mobile robot's autonomy. Employed a 2D LiDAR for precise navigation and mapping and used AMCL (Adaptive Monte Carlo Localization) algorithm post comparative analysis.
  • Integrated sensors and thermal cameras for real-time patient parameter monitoring, including body temperature, oxygen levels, and heart rate. Created web and mobile applications with video calling capabilities for remote operation and consultations.
  • Programmed the system using Python, C, and C++ on Nvidia Jetson Nano

Forest-cop-ter: Forest Inspection using Drone Intelligence

  • Designed a forest fire prediction drone with real-time sensor data featuring a communication system and a delivery system of an emergency kit for lost individuals.
  • Trained an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) on Forest Fires Meteorological dataset & GAN-generated synthetic data.
  • Achieved 90.7% accuracy and 0.952 F1-score with a sequential feedforward ANN

DD Robocon 2022 - Lagori Game Robotic System

  • Developed two robots, R1 and R2, for playing Lagori, a traditional game.
  • R1: Equipped with an adaptive ball feed machine for targeting.
  • R2: Featured vacuum suction grippers and linear actuators for stacking tasks and ball transfer.
  • Controlled the robots using RF based controllers. The hardware consisted arduino boards, battery management system, relays, and various motors like steeper, BLDC geared motors & servo motors
